NORMALIZING STRESS???

In one of the Facebook groups, I came across a post from someone describing their first weeks at a new job. Shaking hands, diarrhea, insomnia, constant tension. The comments were full of reassuring voices: “That’s normal,” “everyone goes through this,” “it will pass with time.”

I strongly disagree that this is normal — or that everyone experiences it!

Normalizing stress does not make it any less dangerous to your health, especially when it’s intense or when there’s no chance to recover after a strong episode. Constant tension, sleep problems, or gut issues are clear signals from your body that something is not right and needs attention — perhaps slowing down at work, seeking support, having a conversation, or setting boundaries.

I’ve written before about how to help yourself using vagus nerve techniques. These are just a few selected methods — there are many more. What matters most isn’t how many you use, but how consistently you practice them.

👌 The simplest techniques you can do ANYWHERE, starting right now:

  • diaphragmatic breathing

  • the physiological sigh

  • ear massage

  • eye exercises

If you’d like to learn more about any of these techniques, feel free to contact me via the contact form. I’ll gladly send you more details free of charge.

MOST IMPORTANT: Don’t try to “push through at all costs.” If your body is telling you “stop,” it’s worth listening. You don’t have to go through this alone — ask for help.
